A still from Airlift.
New Delhi:
The first song from Akshay Kumar's movie Airlift, Soch Na Sake, is a brilliant romantic track sung by Arijit Singh and features Akshay's journey from Kuwait to Baghdad across a desert for the most part.
The romantic number plays along as Akshay, seen as businessman Ranjit Katyal, bids farewell to his wife played by Nimrat Kaur, who disapproves of him making the trip at a time when Kuwait is under attack from Iraq. Throughout his journey, Akshay, who clearly travels with an agenda, remains preoccupied with memories of happier times with his wife, who is back home, alone.
The song ends on a rather unexpected note with Akshay Kumar taken hostage by police forces and a loud gunshot, and leaves arouses a sense of tense anticipation of what happens next.
Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, Airlift recounts the story of the 1990 evacuation of over a lakh Indians from Kuwait, opens on January 22, 2016. (Also Read: Airlift Trailer Stars Akshay Kumar in a Page From Indian History)
