Alec Baldwin appologises to co-passengers for delay

Highlights

  • Alec Baldwin, who was kicked off a flight after an altercation with a member of cabin staff over him playing on his iPad device, has apologized to fellow American Airlines passengers after their flight was delayed because of him.
  • The 53-year-old actor wrote a letter to the Huffington Post and said it was never his intention to cause inconvenience to anyone but claimed a certain flight attendant had behaved unacceptably towards him.
  • "I would like to apologize to the other passengers onboard the American Airlines flight that I was thrown off of yesterday. September 11th was a horrific day in the airline industry, yet in the wake of that event, I believe carriers and airports have used that as an excuse to make the air travel experience as inelegant as possible," he said.
  • Baldwin, who has often hinted at moving into politics, particularly as Mayor of New York, claimed he began playing on his phone after the plane sat stationary at the gate for around 15 minutes.
  • "I was singled out by this woman in the most unpleasant of tones. I guess the fact that this woman, who had decided to make some example of me, while everyone else was left undisturbed, did get the better of me," he added.
