Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin has been roped in to join the star cast of new movie musical Rock of Ages, which includes Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough and Mary J Blige.
The 30 Rock star is the latest big name to sign up for the Adam Shankman-directed film which is a big screen adaptation of the hit musical.
"Based on info I got today, I'm going to confirm Alec Baldwin as Dennis in Rock Of Ages, Shankman said.
In a separate tweet, Shankman added, "Can't wait to start Rock Of Ages movie. Julianne Hough, Alec Baldwin, Mary J Blige, Tom Cruise confirmed. I love my cast. More to come."
Baldwin, 52, will play Dennis Dupree, an ex-rocker hanging onto his glory days while he runs the Rock of Ages nightclub.
Cruise, 48, has signed up to play am ageing musician Stacee Jaxx and has been taking voice lessons for his role as well as studying the 80s rock songs which feature in the storyline so he gets everything right.
