Pop star Alexandra Burke had to check into a hospital after a nasty bug bite during her ongoing Asia tour caused a severely swollen ankle.
The Bad Boys hitmaker, who won UK talent show The X Factor in 2008, visited Japan and Hong Kong earlier this month as part of a promotional tour.
The 22-year-old singer got a scare during the trip when her lower leg started to balloon up and she rushed to see the doctor on Monday, reported Contactmusic.
Burke was diagnosed with a "bad reaction" to an insect bite and was prescribed medication to ease the pain.
"I've been bitten on my ankle... And now my ankle is swollen! Should I be worried? It hurts... Seeing a doctor first thing tomorrow," she wrote on her Twitter page.
After the check-up, Burke posted, "At the hospital and have been seen. Doc says it's a very bad reaction to a bite... So I'm on medication. All should be fine...
"For those asking, my ankle is OK. No more pain thanks to the medication. Have to get it checked when I get back 2 the UK," she added.
