Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor in a still from Shaandaar

Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor's recently released film Shaandaar was not off to a spectacular start. The film which opened in theatres on Dussehra (October 22) managed to collect a mere Rs 33 crores in the first four days.

The only silver lining here is that the first day collection was the biggest opening day for a Shahid Kapoor-film, as per a report in Box Office India. (Movie Review: Shaandaar)
Shaandaar, directed by Vikas Bahl, is a destination wedding fantasy drama film, which also stars Sanjay Kapoor, Pankaj Kapur and his daughter Sanah.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted:
#Shaandaar Thu 13.10 cr [holiday], Fri 7.55 cr, Sat 6.75 cr, Sun 6.11 cr. Total: Rs 33.51 cr. India biz. DISAPPOINTING!
