Alia Bhatt: I Have Grown As An Actor

Hyderabad: Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, who struck gold with her last two releases, feels she has grown as an actor in the last three years since her debut with Student of the Year.

The actress is currently in Hyderabad, with co-actor Varun Dhawan, to promote their upcoming film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.

"I started working at the age of 17. Now, I am 21. The last three years have been like a 'growing up' phase for me. At times I feel I have grown too quickly and at times I feel like a child," she said in a press conference.

The Highway star said she feels privileged to have worked with ace directors of the industry like Karan Johar and Imtiaz Ali. "I feel a change in my personality. I think I have grown as an actor. I have learnt a lot from them," she said.

Varun and Alia, who were earlier seen in Student of the year, have once again paired up for the romcom.Varun, who is playing the title role of Humpty Sharma, said he visited Hyderabad several times as a child,accompanying his father David Dhawan on shoot.

On being asked if he was willing to work in Tollywood, Varun said he was open to the idea.

In the film, Alia's character is named Kavya Pratap Singh. The movie also features Sidharth Shukla and Ashutosh Ranain key roles.

"I am happy with the choices I have made so far. As for making friends, I share a strong bond with some new pals. Hopefully I have not made any enemies," Alia said.

Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, the film has been directed by Shashank Khaitan. It will hit theatreson July 11.
