Alia Bhatt, who attended an event in Mumbai on Tuesday, was all praise for Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan. The actress attended an event with Varun Dhawan, and they both reacted to the box office success of the film, also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in the lead. Calling Pathaan "possibly the biggest blockbuster of Indian cinema," Alia said, "We feel very, very happy as an industry that a film like Pathaan is not just a blockbuster, possibly the biggest blockbuster of Indian cinema. I think everybody should definitely clap for that once. We feel grateful for moments like these and pray that ye hota rahe (this should happen more often)."
Varun Dhawan agreed and added, "Not just grateful, it is also inspirational for all of us."
When a reporter said that Pathaan broke Brahmastra's record, to this, Alia Bhatt replied, "Every film should break every film's record. I am very happy with that."
Alia Bhatt's last release Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, also starred her husband, Ranbir Kapoor. Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, the movie was well-received by the audience and critics. In just 25 days, the Hindi version of the movie earned Rs 425 crore at the box office worldwide. "No.1 Worldwide Hindi movie of 2022! Coming back to Pathaan, helmed by Siddharth Anand, the movie in India has earned a total of Rs 296.50 in six days, as per trade analyst Taran Adarsh. "Pathaan stands tall on the crucial Monday (Day 6). National chains super-strong, mass circuits rocking. Will be SRK's first film to hit Rs 300 crore on Tuesday (Day 7). Wednesday 55 crore, Thursday 68 crore, Friday 38 crore, Saturday 51.50 crore, Sunday 58.50 crore, Monday 25.50 crore. Total: Rs 296.50 crore. India biz," tweeted Taran Adarsh.
