Alia displayed her tattoo at a television award show
New Delhi:
We finally got a good look at Alia Bhatt's tattoo, which is the word 'pataka' or firecracker inked across the nape of her neck in Devnagari. Alia, dressed in Falguni and Shane Peacock, was at the Life OK Awards in Mumbai on June 23 and pushed aside her hair to give the popping flashbulbs a glimpse of the tattoo, prompted by Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania co-star Varun Dhawan.
The tattoo is a few months old, dating from the release of Alia's film Highway but the 21-year-old actress refused to say then if it was a permanent inking or would wash off soon.
That question seems to have been answered now but if you thought the tattoo was inspired by the song Patakha Guddi from Highway, think again - it may actually be in honour of her Humpty Sharma character in which she plays Punjabi with a firecracker personality. A pocket-sized rocket, as one might say.
Humpty Sharma, played by Alia's Student Of The Year co-star Varun, and his Dulhania will be coming to a theatre near you on July 11.
