New Delhi: Actor Purab Kohli will soon be back on the small screen. The actor will next be featuring in Prisoners of War (POW) and hopes it leaves a mark as strong as that left by the 1998 hit show Hip Hip Hurray.
Purab has been spending his time prepping for the role as he plays the character of a prisoner who restarts his life once he is out of prison, said a statement.
The show, an official adaptation of Israeli series Hatufim, will be directed by filmmaker Nikkhil Advani.
Excited about the new show, Purab said in a statement: "After a long wait we finally dive into the shooting of Prisoners of War. I'm looking forward to doing a long running fictional TV show after so many years, the only one being Hip Hip Hurray in 1998-99."
"I do hope Prisoners of War, like Hip Hip Hurray, leaves a lasting impression on people, who have and continue to enjoy watching my work. The genre is quite different from Hip Hip Hurray and I'm looking forward to be directed by Nikkhil, whose work I enjoyed so much in D-Day," said Purab.
"Also there are interesting actors on the show that I'm looking forward to working with. The next few months are going to be very fulfilling I'm sure of it," he added.
The show also stars Amrita Puri, Sandhya Mirdul and Satyadeep Mishra in pivotal roles. The crew and cast have begun shooting in Mumbai's Kamalistan Studios.
