Former teen idol Amanda Bynes appears to think she is former teen idol Britney Spears. A cryptic tweet, entirely unconnected to an of her other tweets, reads:
I'm britney spears
- amanda bynes (@amandabynes) December 16, 2014
Just like that. No explanation.
It's possible that she finds a parallel of her own difficulty in coping with stardom and her experiences with drug and drunk driving-related offences in that of the equally-troubled Britney.
However, there's no knowing. Amanda, former star of The Amanda Show and Sydney White, has a tweeting style that can best be described as random. For instance, this tweet, again lacking context of any manner or form:
I'm so rude
- amanda bynes (@amandabynes) November 10, 2014
And this series of tweets, likewise:
I'm pretty
- amanda bynes (@amandabynes) November 5, 2014
My hair is hideous
- amanda bynes (@amandabynes) November 4, 2014
Thank GOD
- amanda bynes (@amandabynes) November 4, 2014
Amanda, now 28, has not made a film or TV appearance since 2010's Easy A in which she had a small role. Her quick rise to fame was followed by a swift descent from it, her fall from grace being compounded by several arrests for drunk driving and possession of marijuana. She has spent time in hospital and private facilities receiving mental health treatment. She's also made headlines for various istances of public bad behaviour including being accused of shoplifting, getting into a fight with socialite Paris Hilton at a nightclub and name-calling public figures like the Obamas on Twitter.
