"I usually try not to literally reference periods in my work, because that's not the way I think. But when I worked on the costumes, I realised how many pieces could become very 1920s with a little intervention and another point of view," said Prada.
A book-to-screen adaptation of F.Scott Fitzgerald's bestseller of the same name, The Great Gatsby has Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire in the lead roles.
Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has also given a brief appearance for the film, scheduled for release this December.
