Piku and her Baba don't seem to see eye to eye in their upcoming film, at least if we go by its first teaser.
While the film's trailer will release on March 25, a sneak peek into what lies ahead has been provided by this innovative teaser which shows the film's lead actor Amitabh Bachchan having an argument with his on-screen daughter Deepika Padukone who plays the titular character, Piku.
Big B, who shared the teaser on Twitter, wrote:
T 1807 - They want to let all our family secrets out! I object. Whose side are you on? @PikuTheFilm http://t.co/K2bhzM9rCF ·
— Amitabh Bachchan (@SrBachchan) March 21, 2015
Two facts emerge from Deepika and her Baba's conversation. First, that Big B is a Bengali father in the film, as evident from his endearing accent and second, that dealing with his daughter is not exactly a piece of cake for Baba. The film's third character, played by actor Irrfan Khan, also makes an appearance for the first time and seems to play mediator between the two.
Sample their conversation:
Deepika Padukone: Baba, I really like the trailer
Amitabh Bachchan: Promotion karega toh hamara family ka pura baat nikal jayega
Irrfan Khan: Hey bhagwan shuru ho gaye dono
Deepika Padukone: Woh toh anyways sabko pata hai na, so it's nice let it go
Amitabh Bachchan: No thanks
Directed by Shoojit Sircar, Piku explores the relationship between a father and his daughter and will hit screens on May 8.
