Classic Bollywood characters Veeru, Jai and Gabbar from 1975 superhit Bollywood film Sholay will now entertain kids through a series of animated TV movies.
POGO, Graphic India and Sholay Media and Entertainment have announced that they will bring Sholay Adventures, an animated reinvention of the beloved classic, to the small screen.
"The plans for Sholay moving forward in this space are immense! Our partnership with Graphic India and Turner has allowed us to reimagine the origins and characters of Sholay in new and exciting ways for animation," said Sascha Sippy, Chairman of Sholay Media and Entertainment.
The new animated look of the beloved movie characters - originally played by Amitabh Bachchan (Jai), Dharmendra (Veeru) and Amjad Khan (Gabbar) - were created by Graphic India's SVP Creative, Jeevan J Kang with the script for the animated series written by acclaimed writer, Alok Sharma.
The first movie in the series will premiere on POGO on January 26.
