Amitabh Bachchan returns as a host in the seventh season of Kaun Banega Crorepati

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan feelseducation and general knowledge help an actor in hisperformance.
"If I have to study a character which I am playing andrequires a great deal of understanding, knowledge and readingthen yes a certain amount of general knowledge and educationworks," Mr Bachchan said.
Bachchan also seems surprised with the scripting donein Roman Hindi in today's time.
"I find a lot of scripting done today in Roman Hindiand I find it not appropriate. If you are speaking Hindi thenwrite in Devnagari script and not English. May be thisgeneration has grown up that way. I cannot express myself wellenough," he said.
The megastar says he uses it hastily to write on Twitteror blog but that is for convenience of others to read.
"If I have to write in Devnagari then I have to getout of the medium and go to Google to translate it and getback to the medium, it's a long process, it takes 30 secondsbut in today's life 30 seconds means like 30 hours.
"Knowing the language is important in our profession asthe way you speak, the pronunciation adds value to yourperformance," he said.
Bachchan will return as the host of populargame show Kaun Banega Crorepati. The central theme of theseventh season of the show is Seekhna Bandh Toh JeetnaBandh.
The megastar feels learning is a continuous process ashe learns a lot from today's generation of actors.
"Every day you learn from something, especially thenewcomers as they are so talented, capable, self-made. I feelsurprised looking at them, in their very first film they doso well. While I feel I am still learning how to do bettertoday," he said.
Kaun Banega Crorepati, which is in its seventh season,has become quite popular with the masses. But the actor thinksthe credit alone does not go to him, it's the concept that isimportant.
"I take zero credit for the popularity of the show, I havenothing to do with it. The most important thing is the showitself, it is a very well-constructed show. The show wasdesigned by a scientist, who had knowledge...so it is not justsimple question and answer thing. There is a deep researchgone to construct the show," he said.
The show is running in 127 countries and Bachchan ishosting the Hindi version of the show. The show is alsorunning in seven regions of India.
"There are different hosts in different versions and allare doing well. There is an intrinsic value in the show," hesaid.
The veteran actor says he likes other actors also whohave turned hosts on TV, from Salman Khan to Shah Rukh Khan toAamir Khan to Akshay Kumar.
At the same time, Bachchan also feels that it is tough tobring variety as a host on small screen than in films.
"I think it is lot more tough to bring variety as a host,as TV is impromptu. While in films the dialogues and story iswritten by others, you just have to follow someone's visionand speak. Here you are in direct contact with audience,everything is impromptu. You have to talk to contestants onthe show. It is said that two seconds of silence is badtelevision," he added.
