Mr Bachchan tweeted:

The actor has been UNICEF's global ambassador for the eradication of polio since 2005. Some months ago, he blogged about having battled tuberculosis in 2000.
Tomorrow, Amitabh Bachchan will collect his Padma award with colleague Dilip Kumar, this year's recipients of the Padma Vibhushan. He was at rehearsals today:
