Big B said Nelson Mandela was the humblest person he ever met.
New Delhi:
Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan today mourned the death of the South African anti-apartheid revolutionary Nelson Mandela.
The veteran actor told NDTV, "I went to meet Madiba. Most humble person I have ever met. I spent a long time talking about normal things, how wonderful it was for me."
Big B also said he was in awe of the former South African president. "I was in too much awe looking at him. The second meeting was even more astonishing. Mr Mandela came out of his house. Just half-way through the door, he stopped, looked at me on the other side of the road and waved at me. He said, 'Come on over', stretched his hand and said, 'I am Nelson Mandela I hope you remember me.' That is what he said when I met him after two years."
Nelson Mandela, 95, died peacefully at his home in Johannesburg after spending months in critical condition following treatment for a lung infection.
