"Prime Icon??!! Gosh that is far too farfetched for me ... and to have Sachin (Tendulkar), Lataji (Lata Mangeshkar), Aamir, SRK, Modi (Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi), Nitish (Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar)... as contenders," he further posted.

Also present at the event were director Sudhir Mishra, actress Neetu Chandra and Mr Anand Chakravarthy, business head - BIG CBS.

"We couldn't have asked for a better grand finale to the show, with the most deserving, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, being conferred the title of the India's first ever Prime Icon. Epitomizing the word Icon, we are happy that India has selected the most commendable icon," Chakravarthy said in a statement.
