London:
Pop singer Amy Winehouse reportedly "insulted" the King of the Zulus, Goodwill Zwelithini, as she fell asleep during his speech.
The singer and her director boyfriend Reg Traviss were at the opening of new African-themed restaurant Shaka Zulu in Camden in north London Wednesday night where the king was to speak.
Amy is said to have arrived late and drunk and then proceeded to fall asleep during the king's 15-minute address to the 200 guests.
"It was embarrassing, Amy was in a state. People were cringing. Before the king arrived, she was downing glasses of wine and kissing Reg. She completely insulted the king during the speech and showed no respect," femalefirst.co.uk quoted a source as saying.
However, Reg tried his best to keep his girlfriend under control.
