Popstar Amy Winehouse will pocket$1 million for a hour-long performance at a party thrown bya Russian billionaire.
The Rehab hitmaker who has been out of the musicscene for the past two years because of her drug and alcoholaddictions, has been flown to the Russian capital by privatejet to perform at a New Year's Eve party, reported Sun online.
It is her first private gig since billionaire RomanAbramovich paid her $2.5 million to sing at the launch ofhis girlfriend's Moscow art gallery in 2008.
The 27-year-old plans to use the show as preparationfor six gigs in Brazil in January that will net her around $500,000.
"This is the strongest Amy has felt in a very longtime. She is determined to go down in history as a world-classperformer, not someone who ruined a spectacular talent throughdrugs. The long road back starts in Moscow. This is like awarm-up with a nice financial bonus," said a source close tothe singer.
Winehouse arrived at the city's Vnukovo Airport onThursday. Two Mercedes vans whisked her and her entourage to a$2500-a-night hotel.
