Angelia Jolie held meetings with Turkish President Abdullah Gul and high-ranked Turkish officials about the plight of Syrian refugees

AnkaraHollywood star and UN goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie on Friday said she was concerned about the plight of Syrian refugees fleeing the unrest in their country.
"I share everyone's concerns about the winter approaching... with the violence showing no signs of easing up and the number (of refugees) growing," Jolie was quoted as saying in Turkish capital Ankara.
Accompanied by UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonia Guterres, the Oscar-winning actress held meetings with Turkish President Abdullah Gul and high-ranked Turkish officials.On Thursday, Angelina Jolie visited two Syrian refugee camps in Turkey. She met some of the 12,000 refugees at Oncupinar camp in Kilis city, and joined Syrian children who were singing in Turkish.
She also visited Islahiye in Gaziantep province that is sheltering nearly 8,000 Syrians.According to UN figures, the Syrian crisis has forced some 235,000 Syrians to flee to neighbouring countries, with 80,000 taking shelter in Turkey. Angelina Jolie and Guterres were in Lebanon on Wednesday where they discussed the refugee issue with Lebanese officials.
