Actress Angelina Jolie received her Honorary Damehood from Britain's Queen Elizabeth II today.
The Girl, Interrupted star was named on the Birthday Honours list in June this year. She has been awarded for her humanitarian work, which involves the campaign to end war zone sexual violence. The actress is also a United Nations special envoy for the cause.
The actress received the Insignia of the Honorary Dame Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George from Queen Elizabeth II at the Buckingham Palace.
Actor Brad Pitt, Angelina's husband of One-and-a-half months, and their six children were present at Buckingham Palace but were not photographed.
The actress, however, won't be able to use the title 'Dame' in her name as she is not a citizen of the commonwealth. Other stars who have received honorary titles include Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis, Homeland
