Anil Kapoor has worked with Rajkumar Santoshi in Pukar and Lajja

Actor Anil Kapoor has teamed up withdirector Rajkumar Santoshi for a movie based on 1947partition.
Kapoor and Santoshi have previously worked together inPukar (2000) and Lajja (2001). Their third project isbased on the Indo-Pak Partition drama and the 53-year-oldactor has been roped in to play the lead role.
"I am doing a film based on 1947 partition. It is avery dramatic film. I am working on it. It is too early totalk about the actors that I have on my wish list for thisfilm except Anil Kapoor. He is playing a powerful character,"Rajkumar Santoshi said.
Santoshi, however, did not elaborate on Kapoor'scharacter.
The film is reportedly an adaptation of the play, JisLahore Nahi Dekhya Woh Jamiya Hi Nahin.
"The film will have a universal message - promotingharmony in times of intolerance," said Santoshi withoutdisclosing further details.
Meanwhile, Santoshi is looking forward to the releaseof his directional venture, Shahid Kapoor-starrer PhataPoster Nikhla Hero, which will hit the theatres on September20.
