Anil says Sonam wanted to be a part of his show but didn't have the dates

Sonam Kapoor could not be a partof father Anil's debut TV venture 24 due to a busy movieschedule but the actor says he will make sure that hisdaughter appears in the next series.
Anil, who is upbeat about the spy thriller's next season,said he would request Sonam to take out some time from herhectic film commitments to be a part of his spy thriller.
"My daughters and wife are excited about the show. Theyeven came for the first look launch. Generally, they don'tcome for my events but for this she came. Sonam had said thatshe doesn't have dates to star in this season. So, I wouldrequest Sonam to be a part of the next season if this one goeswell," Anil told PTI.
The Indian version of 24, which will go on air on Colorsfrom October 4, is said to be the most ambitious and expensiveshow on TV but Kapoor says he has merely tried to be true tothe content.
"The series is going to be great for the audience becausethey will be getting something which is honest, pure and worththeir while. My series is a tribute to my audience and alsorespects their sensibilities. It's an interesting amalgamationof reality and fiction.
"Being the producer of 24, I never thought about myprofit. So, calling it one of the most expensive show iswrong. Rather it's one of the most sincere show on TV ever,"Anil said.
The Hindi version of 24 will see Anil reprising thelead role of Counter Terrorist Unit agent Jack Bauer (KieferSutherland) from its American series as Jai Singh Rathod. Theseries is about his race against time.Anil decided to bring the series to India after playing aMiddle-East politician Omar Hassan in the season 8 of the Foxnetwork's show.
Being directed by Abhinay Deo of Delhi Belly fame, ithas a stellar starcast and marks the fiction TV comeback ofmany actors including Mandira Bedi, Anita Raj and TiscaChopra. The series also has special appearances by veteranslike Shabana Azmi and Anupam Kher.
"I feel people want sensible work on TV. Performances inthe show are realistic. It has good actors like Shabana,Anupam, Rahul Khanna besides many TV and theatre actor whohave value in the eyes of people. If these people areassociating themselves with the show then it has to besomething interesting," Anil said.
The show, which took two years to complete, has beenadapted according to Indian sensibilities but the makers hadkept the high points of the show intact.
"We have the skeleton intact in 24 from its Americanversion but the story is according to Indian sensibilities,"he said.
The channel also has Salman Khan's Bigg Boss, whichis garnering the TRPs but Anil does not feel that there wouldbe any competition between the two shows.
"Both the shows belong to same channel and that is abig blessing in disguise because people don't have to switchthe channel. I feel Bigg Boss might help to get more viewerfor my series. Competition is always welcome and that makesyou work hard," Anil said.
