Mumbai:
Anurag Kashyap loved Neeraj Ghaywan's Masaan so much that he wished he had directed the movie.
Anurag is one of the producers of the movie, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and went on to win two awards there - FIPRESCI, International Jury of Film Critics prize and Promising Future prize in the Un Certain Regard section.
The Gangs of Wasseypur director, who also loved Vikramaditya Motwane's Udaan, shared that both the movies made it to the prestigious festival.
Masaan, which has already released in France, will hit screens in India on July 24. It stars Richa Chadda, Vicky Kaushal, Sanjay Mishra and Shweta Tripathi in lead roles.
Anurag's last film as a director was Bombay Velvet, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar, which fizzled at the box-office.
