Director Anurag Kashyap has reasons to celebrate as three of his films Gangs of Wasseypur (Part I&II) and Peddlers have made it to the prestigious Cannes Film Festival this year.
Mr Kashyap's ambitious two-part directorial venture Gangs of Wasseypur, which almost runs for five hours, will be screened at the Director's Fortnight while his home production Peddlers, directed by debutant Vasan Bala, is a part of the Critics Week, a parallel section of the prestigious Cannes International Film Festival.
The director, who is on his way to Copenhagen, tweeted his happiness.
"Three of our films; Peddlers, Gangs Of Wasseypur (I&II) at Cannes Film Festival. HUGE MOMENT OF PRIDE FOR US! Gangs Of Wasseypur (I & II) at Cannes Director's Fortnight," Mr Kashyap tweeted.
"Waiting at the Brussels airport in a silent zone, wanting to scream out loud, off to Copenhagen.. I am very happy...really Happy today...amongst all the madness.. GOW was a film that almost didn't get made," the director further wrote.
Mr Kashyap's film will be screened alongside 19 feature films, including 11 world premieres and five first-time films.
