Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma looks every bit the sixties siren as she performs at the marquee club, Bombay Velvet, with Ranbir Kapoor in the audience, in the first song from their film Bombay Velvet titled Fifi.
Turning back the clock to Bombay of the Sixties, the peppy number is picturised on Anushka's Rosie Noronha lip-snycing Geeta Dutt's Jaata kahaan hain diwane from the 1956 classic CID. The title 'Fifi' had figured prominently in the original as well. The original song was picturised on actress Waheeda Rehman.
In the backdrop of high voltage action, deception and intrigue, romance blossoms between Rosie, a marquee performer and a streetfighter, Johnny Balraj, played by Ranbir Kapoor.
The song also features her and Ranbir in an intimate moment.
Karan Johar, who plays the antagonist Kaizad Khambatta, makes an appearance, looking every bit the rich and sophisticated Parsi businessman. Kay Kay Menon is deadly as an investigative officer.
Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Bombay Velvet will hit theatres on May 15.
