Highlights

  • Filmmaker Apoorva Lakhia, whose remake of the 1973 film Zanjeer is being readied for release, had to travel this week to Bangkok for Prakash Raj's dubbing.
  • Prakash is busy shooting there for writers-turned-directorial-duo Sajid-Farhad's "It's Entertainment".
  • A source from Bangkok said: "We were surprised to see Apoorva Lakhia at our location. We thought he had come to meet Akshay Kumar for a narration. But he told us he is here to dub with Prakash Raj."
  • Further probing revealed that all the other actors, including the enormously-busy Ram Charan Teja and Priyanka Chopra had already dubbed for Zanjeer. Only Prakash Raj's dubbing remained.
  • Said the source: "This is not the first time that Prakash Raj's dubbing was on hold while he shot for another film. During Dabangg 2, director Arbaaz Khan waited as long as he could to get Prakash Raj's dubbing dates and then got them dubbed by another dubbing artiste."
  • "Apu (Apoorva) didn't want to make the same mistake. Prakash's voice is too distinctive and familiar. He couldn't risk messing it up. If you remember in the original Zanjeer, Ajit's voice carried the villainous authority of the character. Prakash Raj's Teja couldn't speak in an impersonator's voice. So Apu flew down to Bangkok to dub the actor's dialogues."
