Filmmaker Jason Moore and Gleewriter Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa are all set to team up forWarner Bros' live-action comedy adaptation of the 1940s comicsArchie.
The ambitious project based on the comics, featuringfictional teen Archie Andrews and his friends, will beproduced by Roy Lee and Dan Lin, reported Ace Showbiz.
Archie Comics Co-CEO Jon Goldwater has also come aboard tohelp to executive produce the film, which is said to be a"high school comedy based on the original line of Archiecomics set in present day Riverdale."
"We are thrilled to be working with Warner Bros on thisproject and have complete faith in their ability to bringArchie to the big screen in a way the fans will love,"Goldwater said in a statement.
Aguirre-Sacasa added, "Jason and I have been friends for along time, and this is a complete passion project for everyoneinvolved. Archie is the ultimate teenager and this movie willbe the ultimate teenage movie - in the grand tradition ofSixteen Candles and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. We are sograteful to Jon for inviting us to this dance."
