Earlier this year, reports of Sujoy Ghosh working on King with Shah Rukh Khan made headlines.
The initial details revealed that he was working on the crime thriller which will also mark SRK's daughter Suhana Khan's theatrical debut. Abhishek Bachchan and Abhay Verma were to step into the role of antagonists.
However, the latest Mid-day report has now said that Sujoy Ghosh has stepped down from the director's seat, while Siddharth Anand will take over the role to develop King. He had also worked with King Khan in Pathaan.
Now it's being said that Sujoy Ghosh might collaborate with Shahid Kapoor soon. The title of the film is not revealed yet, however, it will reportedly be a thriller.
The quote shared by a source read, "Shahid was interested in the script earlier, but the timing wasn't right. Now, both Sujoy and he are making it a priority to align their schedules and bring it to life."
Shahid's team denied any such collaboration on Monday. No concrete information has further been revealed.
The thriller genre is Sujoy Ghosh's forte, with films like Kahaani and Jaane Jaan under his belt, the excitement for yet another gripping thriller has gotten fans excited.
Shahid Kapoor's last film was Teri Baaton Main Aisa Uljha Jiya, where he was seen alongside Kriti Sanon. Their chemistry was widely loved, the two are reportedly coming together again for Cocktail 2 and will be joined by Rashmika Mandanna. Other than this, Kapoor also has a Vishal Bhardwaj directorial and Rosshan Andrew's Deva to look forward to.
