Actor Arjun Kapoor, son of producer Boney Kapoor, on Tuesday said that it is time to formalise the information platform giving figures about box office collections of the releases.
He was speaking on the last day of the 16th Mumbai Film Festival, organised by the Moving Academy of Images (MAMI), in a session focusing on the marketing and box office trends in India.
"We had an interesting session on box office collections and the marketing strategy. As an actor I feel box office is not the only idea to make films. But as far as the collections are concerned, you see a huge disparity in the collections on each and every website," Arjun told reporters.
So there has to be a legal and official way to put the awareness somewhere. It will take time. We have huge number of theatres, but hope within a year we get this thing going," added the star of films like Ishaqzaade and 2 States.
