Chennai:
Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was approached by the makers of Enthiran 2 to play the antagonist in the film starring Rajinikanth in lead role, may not get to play the role as the deal failed to work out, a source has said.
"The team has finally decided to rope in a Bollywood actor to play the villain. The deal with Arnold Schwarzenegger didn't work out for various reasons. Hence, the makers decided to move on, as the project was getting delayed," a source from the film's unit told IANS.(Also Read: Rajinikanth Will Take a Kabali Break For Enthiran 2 Make-Up Test)
One of the reasons why the deal with Mr Schwarzenegger fell through was because of the star's high remuneration of Rs 120 crore, according to the source.
Enthiran 2 is the sequel to 2010 Tamil blockbuster Enthiran and also stars actress Amy Jackson. She will reportedly play a robot in the film.
The Shankar-directed film will be produced by Lyca Productions and is set to go on floors later this month or early next year. Oscar winner AR Rahman has been roped in to compose the music for the film.
