Twilight star Ashley Greene hasreportedly signed on to star in a modern-day adaptation ofCharles Dickens' classic novel Oliver Twist, entitledOlivia Twisted.
The 24-year-old actress will take on the lead role in anultra modern take of the novel which will combine classicDickensian elements with a unique gothic backdrop,Contactmusic reported.
The film follows the story of 19-year-old Oliviarunning a crew of well-trained, orphan street urchins but theyare suddenly plunged into the middle of a nasty turf warbetween two criminal gangs when they take on a simplekidnapping job.
First-time screenwriter Michael Roberts has penned thescript while The Social Network co-producer Michael De Lucais spearheading the project, which is yet to get a director.
