Ashton Kutcher to sue DMV for backing out of a reality show deal
New Delhi: Ashton Kutcher's production company is suing the State of California for $1.4 million after the DMV allegedly backed out of a reality show deal.

In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Ashton's Katalyst Media - which produced 'Punk'd' and 'Beauty and the Geek' - claims it signed a contract with them back in 2010.

The agreement was to participate in a reality show that would "capture the variously humorous, emotional, dramatic, moving, humanising and entertaining situations that arise on a daily basis" at the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Katalyst claims it had a "formal written agreement" with the DMV to shoot footage in the summer and autumn of last year.

It stated there would be an initial four episodes with an option of six more.

Katalyst claims it spent hundreds of thousands of dollars getting ready for the show however received a letter with only five sentences from a boss at the DMV six weeks later.

The note was apparently and attempt to back out of the agreement and according to the papers filed the writer said the project wouldn't be in their "best interests.
