National award winning actor AtulKulkarni has been nominated in the Best Actor category at theAsia Pacific Screen Awards, labelled as 'Oscars of theEast'.
The nomination comes in the wake of the Special Mentionat the Munich Film Festival in Germany for Atul's performanceof a Tamasha dancer in critically-acclaimed Marathi movie,Natrang.
The 45-year-old faces competition from Australia'sveteran actor Tony Barry and Chen Daoming from China, to winthe honours.
Anant Mahadevan's Marathi directorial debut MeeSindhutai Sapkal, an eponymous biopic on a noted socialworker, has also been nominated for the Awards.
