Asin said she would marry Rahul Sharma by the end of the year
New Delhi:
Bollywood actress Asin Thottumkal, whose hush-hush relationship with Micromax founder Rahul Sharma has taken Bollywood by surprise, has revealed that they will be married by the end of the year.
The actress told Bombay Times, "Rahul and I have been together for almost four years. I will get married by the end of the year."
When asked how she met Rahul, the actress revealed that her story was 'eerily similar' to that of her film Ghajini. The film, which released in 2008, starred Asin as the love interest of Aamir Khan, who played a businessman with retrograde amnesia out to avenge her death.
"Just like my character Sanjana in the film faffs and makes up the story of being linked to Sanjay Singhania, that I met him first at the Mumbai airport, and that he said a hi and I said hi and how he came and sat next to me and then said I love you. My story is eerily similar to that," Asin, 27 said.
She also disclosed that it was her Khiladi 786 co-star Akshay Kumar who introduced her to her future husband and told her 'I think you two will be good for each other.'
"Akshay is family for us and somehow, has a good sense of people so he sensed that similarity between Rahul and me. Of course I didn't know what Rahul's side (Rahul and Akshay are best friends) was as that may have also been the reason why Akshay was pursuing it," Asin is quoted as having said in the interview.
The actress, who seemed head over heels in love, was gushing with praise for the entrepreneur. "He is very selfless and outstandingly secure and I feel that's pure love, the rest is selfishness. Throughout the relationship, his sole concern is my happiness.
Also he is level headed, mature and along with all of that, the fact that he is so grounded, and simple. He is very correct in doing things the right way," she added.
On whether she would continue with films post marriage, the actress said, "I have been working from the age of 14 and as of now, I am not taking up anything and will definitely take a break from films."
Asin will be next seen in All Is Well opposite Abhishek Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor. The film will hit theatres on August 21.
