At Cannes, Ash redeems self in Cavalli kaftan

Cannes: Last night, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was staring into a style abyss in an outfit that could have been, but very emphatically wasn't. The Abu-Sandeep chikankari sari was made 'de-glam,' to borrow a phrase from Bollywood, with a high collared, long sleeved jacket that took the place of a choli. What a difference a day makes. Today, Ash was back in the fashion game in a floral caftan by Roberto Cavalli and strappy, high heeled Guiseppe Zanotti shoes. The caftan was as forgiving to her post baby curves as the Angelo Katsapis dress she wore at her photocall yesterday afternoon. (Read: Dress, not sari, for Ash's first day out in Cannes)

So, two great outfits out of three. Not a bad count for the new mum. What is she going to wear for her next red carpet outing? We suspect it will be an Abu-Sandeep anarkali.
