It was a great night for stargazing at the Bachchans' annual Diwali party at their Mumbai residence on November 11. Cameras lined the road outside as a glittering parade of Bollywood A-listers - Shah Rukh Khan, Kangana Ranaut, Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, Sonakshi Sinha and several others - arrived dressed in their festive best.
The welcome committee consisted of the younger Bachchans - Aishwarya looked lovely in an elaborate pink and green anarkali by Manish Malhotra, Abhishek wore a bright yellow kurta. Together, they cut a fine figure. Amitabh Bachchan wore a red kurta just like his son's and we also got a glimpse of Jaya Bachchan as she greeted guests. Leading the VIP guest list was actor Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri. Dressed in a black patahni suit and a pristine white sari respectively, the Khans looked like the yin and yang of Bollywood fashion.
Making a splash were Deepika Padukone, in favoured designer Sabyasachi, and her Bajirao Mastani co-star Ranveer Singh who arrived in character, kind of.
Ranbir Kapoor arrived with his girlfriend Katrina Kaif, who was all smiles and shimmer, and filmmaker Ayan Mukherji.
Actress Kangana Ranaut kept it simple in a green sari while Alia Bhatt looked stunning in a pale lehenga and blue choli. Sonakshi Sinha was styled in a Ridhi Mehra ensemble.
Aditi Rao Hydari, dressed in Rimple & Harpreet Narula and Raveena Tandon matched each other in gold.
Preity Zinta, Tara Sharma and Hema Malini were on team pink.
IIn paler shades of pink were actresses Neha Dhupia, Jacqueline Fernandez (in a Dilnaz Karbhary dress) and Prachi Desai.
Actress Shilpa Shetty, who came with her husband Raj Kundra, was dressed in a dazzling blue sari accessorized with diamonds and rubies. Actress Genelia D'Souza, dressed in a Rimple & Harpeet Narula outfit, came with husband Riteish Deshmukh, who wore a kurta from Kunal Anil Tanna's collection.
The gents - actors Hrithik Roshan, Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, Vivaan Shah, Sonu Sood and Dino Morea - also put their best fashion foot forward.
Arriving in twos were Ronit Roy and his wife Neelam, Rohit and Manasi Roy, Samir Soni and Neelam Kothari, Shabbir Ahluwalia and Kanchi Kaul.
Brothers Rishi and Randhir Kapoor and their sister Reema Jain represented the Kapoor clan.
