Actress Kristen Stewart accusing Hollywood of being 'disgustingly sexist' should come as a surprise to nobody, with profit margins in the movie business often depending on fetishizing and objectifying actresses. At the Oscars this year, Best Supporting Actress Patricia Arquette called for equal pay for women working in Hollywood. In the audience, Meryl Streep and Jennifer Lopez fairly leapt out of their chairs to cheer her on. As the only female Avenger for years (she has Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch for company now) - and one clad in the curve-hugging catsuit that Black Widow wears - actress Scarlett Johansson has also been vocal about sexist questions during interviews. While on publicity duty for the first Avengers film, Scarlett told co-star Robert Downey Jr, "You get the existential questions and I get the rabbit food questions." Watch this video:
To Avenge Scarlett, so to speak, actor Mark Ruffalo, who plays Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk, signed a petition to answer any questions about wardrobe, diet and make-up instead of Scarlett while doing press for Avengers: Age of Ultron. He posted the petition on his tumblr last year:
In an interview with Cosmopolitan UK, he did just that.
