London:
Pop star Avril Lavigne has been diagnosed with a throat infection, but the singer is not letting it come in the way of her upcoming album.
The 'Girlfriend' hitmaker is currently recording for a follow-up to 2007's 'The Best Damn Thing' and was dealt a setback last week when doctors confirmed she has been struck down with the streptococcus virus, reported Contactmusic.
But the 25-year-old singer is determined to battle through the illness and has posted a photo of herself wearing a medical face mask on her Twitter page.
"In the studio with (music producer) AlexDaKid, I've got strep throat, but I ain't stopping my thing!" wrote Lavigne.
