Guns N' Roses frontman AxlRose filed a lawsuit against the bosses of hit gameseries 'Guitar Hero' for alleged breach of contract and fraud.
The Sweet Child Of Mine hitmaker is seeking $20million in damages from sales of the hit game.
The rocker filed a lawsuit on Tuesday, November 23 atLos Angeles Superior Court claiming Activision Blizzard chiefs"fraudulently induced" him into authorising the band's songWelcome to the Jungle in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock,reported Aceshowbiz online.
Rose claims bosses promised him the game wouldn'tfeature any reference to his former bandmate Slash or theguitarist's band Velvet Revolver, before releasing a coverfeaturing "an animated depiction of Slash, with his signatureblack top hat, long dark curly hair, dark sunglasses andnose-piercing".
The lawsuit states, "(Activision Blizzard) beganspinning a web of lies and deception to conceal its trueintentions to not only feature Slash and VR (Velvet Revolver)prominently in GH III, but also promote the game byemphasising and reinforcing an association between Slash andGuns N' Roses and the band's song Welcome to the Jungle." Rose's lawyer Skip Miller added, "This lawsuit isabout protecting Guns N' Roses and Welcome to the Jungle,
and is about holding Activision accountable for its misuse ofthese incredibly valuable assets. The relief we are seeking isdisgorgement of profits and compensatory and punitivedamages."
