Panaji: Baahubali: The Beginning may have become a huge box office success and earned praises for the use of VFX, but its cinematographer K K Senthil Kumar said that he was disappointed with the CGI errors which made many scenes look fake.
The first part of S S Rajamouli's magnum opus stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah and Anushka Shetty in lead roles. The movie went on to become one of the highest grossing Indian films in the country and abroad.
"As a DOP, I am disappointed by a lot of things in Baahubali. There are so many scenes where there were mistakes, which made the CGI look fake. There were issues related to the depth of field, there are motion blurs. So we are trying to rectify this problem in the second film. I hope it gets a slicker image," Mr Kumar said on the sidelines of IFFI. (Also Read: Baahubali's Secrets Revealed: The 'Baby' in the River Was a Bottle)
The cinematographer has also worked in films like Magadheera, Arundhati, Eega and shot a song for Rohit Shetty's much-awaited Dilwale, starring stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. He also said that making the second part of Baahubali is going to be very challenging.
"I didn't expect the first film to be so successful. Now the real challenge is to take it to the next level. The first part was just the introduction. The second part is really the core story. Ultimately, cinema is about the emotional content and about storytelling," he said.
