Made at a phenomenal budget of over Rs 250 crores, Baahubali is India's most expensive film and also its biggest hit. The film made over Rs 500 crores in India, breaking numerous box-office records. Its Hollywood-quality special effects, which put it in the league of films like American blockbuster 300, also broke several technological boundaries. With around 5000 VFX shots, 90% of the film comprised of visual effects.

The SS Rajamouli-directed film, which revolved around two warring brothers fighting for the control of their kingdom, featured Prabhas in a double role of which one was the titular Baahubali. Tamannaah and Anushka Shetty played their leading ladies.

Baahubali 2, which begun filming last month, is tentatively scheduled for release in 2017.
