Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in Badrinath Ki Dulhania
New Delhi:
Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan's Badrinath Ki Dulhania, which released on March 10, continues to 'dominate' the box office, tweets trade analyst Taran Adarsh. On Sunday, the film collected Rs 7.45 crore. Badrinath Ki Dulhania current total now stands at Rs 91.22 crore, tweeted Mr Adarsh. The film's plot is based on a sterling groom Badrinath Bansal (Varun Dhawan) and Vaidehi Trivedi (Alia Bhatt), who is an ambitious and independent girl. Badri falls in love with Vaidehi and tries to woo her by any means. Vaidehi is the only girl whom Badri wants to marry, however, she rejects him. Badrinath Ki Dulhania is directed by Shashank Khaitan and is produced by Alia and Varun's mentor Karan Johar.

Badrinath Ki Dulhania, sequel to Alia and Varun's 2014 film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, is their third film together. The actors debuted in 2012 with Karan Johar's Student Of The Year, also featuring Sidharth Malhotra.
In his review for NDTV Movies, Saibal Chatterjee gave Badrinath Ki Dulhania 2 out of 5 stars. He wrote, "Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan's film is a pulpy, uneven romantic caper that strives to pass itself off as a mellow tale of patriarchy, love, honour and ambition."
After Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Alia, who celebrated her 24th birthday last week, will be seen in Ayan Mukherjee's Dragon and Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy while Varun Dhawan is prepping for Judwaa 2, a sequel to Salman Khan's 1997 hit film Judwaa.
