Blame John Travolta. First child star Quvenzhane Wallis' name slipped by Ricky Gervais at the Golden Globes last month, and now BAFTA host Stephen Fry had a Travolta moment when he mixed Boyhood star Patricia Arquette up with her sister Rosanna in his opening monologue. 'Unless my eyes are cruelly deceiving me than we are also blessed with Boyhood's Ellar Coltrane, Rosanna Arquette and Ethan Hawke,' Mr Fry said to the audience at the Royal Opera House in London on February 8.
Patricia, who was seated next to her boyfriend, Eric White, didn't cringe at being called by her sister's name as Stephen Fry serenely carried on, oblivious of his error. After winning the Best Supporting Actress BAFTA, Patricia continued to heroically ignore Mr Fry's name swap, instead paying tribute to her family, co-stars and director Richard Linklater.
John Travolta's presenting gig at the Oscars last year will never be forgotten after he massacred Let It Go singer Idian Menzel's name, pronouncing it Adele Dazeem.
Apparently, it's catching.
