Writer-director R Balki andmegastar Amitabh Bachchan, who earlier teamed up for movieslike Cheeni Kum and Paa, will again come together for afilm that Balki is writing with the veteran actor in mind.
"Once she (Balki's wife Gauri Shinde who is makingEnglish Vinglish) finishes then I will start directing. Popularly known as Balki, R Balakrishnan wrote anddirected off-beat movies with Bachchan.
He made Cheeni Kum(2007), a different kind of aromantic film, in which Tabu played a 34-year-old who falls inlove with a 60-plus Bachchan.
In Paa (2009), Bachchan played the role of a13-year-old progeria (rare genetic condition) patient with hisreal life son Abhishek playing hin onscreen father. The filmwent on to win various awards including the coveted Nationalaward for Bachchan.
Balki's association with Bachchan goes a long way sincehe worked with the megastar in many of his ad films.Balki said that it was only after he had made some 10-14ad films with Bachchan that he got the confidence to approachthe actor for his own movie.
Meanwhile, Balki has written and produced wife GauriShinde's directorial debut film English Vinglish, in whichnoted actress Sridevi is making her comeback in Bollywood.
English Vinglish is a fun-filled slice-of-life movieexploring the impact of not knowing English language ineveryday life.
"I am jealous of her (Gauri) as she got to work withSridevi before me," Balki said.
The film is set to release on September 21. with Mr Bachchan. I am writing thefilm hence can't talk about it," R Balki said.
