Free Legal Aid Committee (FLAC),an NGO engaged in spreading awareness against superstitionof daayan (witch), today demanded ban on Emraan Hashmi's filmEk Thi Daayan.
Prem Chand alias Premji of FLAC, said he had recentlywritten a letter to President Pranab Mukherjee demandingimmediate ban on the just released film as it glorifies thesuperstition.
The Emraan Hashmi starrer, directed by Kannan Iyer andco-produced by Ekta Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj, as well astele-serials being telecast on the theme will "only glorifythe culprits engaged in inflicting mental and physical tortureon innocent women on the pretext of being a witch," Premjitold reporters here.
He said that 14 states including Bihar, Bengal, Odisha,Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Rajasthan, Meghalaya,Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana were affected bythis problem.
