New Delhi: It's clear from the hilarious trailer of Bangistan that the ineptness of amateur terrorists Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat guarantees the failure of their nefarious plan.
Hafiz Bin Ali (Ritesh) and Praveen Chaturvedi (Pulkit) belong to different religions and regions of the fictional Bangistan, a country where bombs can and do go off at any time. Each is entrusted with the same mission by their respective terrorist organizations - to disrupt a vishwa dharmik conference at which their religious leaders have been spotted, horror of horrors, embracing. (First Look: Riteish Deshmukh as Bangistan's Bumbling Terrorist)
Hafiz is apparently chosen to be a suicide bomber by the length of his beard, Praveen because he plays Hanuman on stage with singularly violent fervour. The grand plan - to swap religions. And so, Hafiz becomes Ishwar Singh Sharma, Praveen becomes Allah Rakha Khan.
A lovely lass in the shape of Jacqueline Fernandez threatens to put their scheme in jeopardy - but Hafiz/Ishwar and Praveen/Allah Rakha are so inefficient that the only thing exploding will be your insides with laughter.
"No shanti, only kranti," goes the soundtrack.
Bangistan, produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment, also stars Chandan Roy Sanyal and Arya Babbar. The Karan Anshuman-directed film is slated to release on July 31.
