London: Barry Gibb paid tribute to his brother Robin's "beautiful heart" at his funeral.

The singer told the congregation at the funeral in Oxfordshire that Robin was now with their brother Maurice - who died in 2003 - but claimed life had been "too short" for his sibling, who passed away at the age of 62 after a long period of ill health.

He said: "Life is too short. In Robin's case, absolutely too short. We should have had 20, 30 years of his magnificent mind and his beautiful heart. They were both beautiful. And now they're together. They're actually together. I think the greatest pain for Robin in the past 10 years was losing his twin brother, and I think it did all kinds of things to him."

However, Barry - who is the last surviving member of the Bee Gees, the band which catapulted the family to fame - also highlighted Robin's sense of fun, praising his "intuitive wit".

Speaking to a crowd which included his elderly mother Barbara and pop star Peter Andre, he added: "There was no funnier man than Spike Milligan - apart from Robin. And his sharp, intuitive wit will live with us forever. You could stand Robin next to Spike Milligan and it would be a competition."
