Befikre Box Office Collection Day 2: Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor's film collected Rs 21 crore so far
New Delhi:
Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor's latest film Befikre, which released on December 9, minted Rs 11.60 crore on the second day of its release bringing the grand total to Rs 21.96 crore. The amount is slightly above the first day's collection which was Rs 10.36 crore. Befikre showed limited growth on Saturday, says trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Befikre is directed by Aditya Chopra, who took up the job after eight years. Aditya last directed Anushka Sharma (then newcomer) and Shah Rukh Khan in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Befikre is Aditya's fourth film as director; his debut film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge enjoyed immense popularity in its time and beyond. Befikre is touted to be Aditya Chopra's shift in cinematic style from his DDLJ (as the film is fondly called) days.
Taran Adarsh tweeted the exact numbers of Befikre's collection so far:
Aditya Chopra's film is a fresh take on love stories and happily ever after, in which Dharam (Ranveer Singh) and Shyra (Vaani Kapoor) discover the intricacies of love, romance and emotional bonds through their 'no-strings attached' relationship.
The film received fairly decent reviews. In his review for NDTV, Saibal Chatterjee wrote: "The free-wheeling tale of lust and love gets buried under a crushing bulk of badinage that eventually yields no more than layers of surface gloss: nice to behold but flimsy in the main."
Both Ranveer and Vaani are Yash Raj Films' protegee. Ranveer debuted opposite Anushka Sharma in Band Baaja Baaraat while Vaani was introduced in 2013's Shuddh Desi Romance co-starring Parineeti Chopra and Sushant Singh Rajput. Ranveer has also made Gunday and Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl with YRF while Befikre is Vaani's second film in three years.
