On his part, Aditya Chopra said that Ranveer was cast for Befikre even before he came onboard. "Even before I knew that I'm going to direct this film, I was writing it for Ranveer. I would not have made Befikre if an actor called Ranveer Singh did not exist," wrote in a press statement.
Aditya has directed Shah Rukh in 1995's Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (also his debut film as director), Mohabbatein in 2000 and six years later in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Of Shah Rukh, Aditya said: "He is a very bad habit that you just cannot get over. He just makes your job so easy that you actually can't think of making a film with anyone else again."
Aditya also promised another film with SRK saying: "Before our next film together, I had had to do this one without him and I was really scared. I was scared because I truly believe that in all the films we have done together, Shah Rukh is the reason I come out looking good."
Meanwhile, Bollywood celebs are flooding Ranveer's Twitter feed with best wishes for Befikre. His Padmavati co-star Shahid Kapoor said:
@RanveerOfficial @Vaaniofficial and team #Befikre wishing you guys all the luck for the release today.

Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor's Befikre is about a young carefree couple in a no-string attached live-in relationship. The story chronicles the journey of Dharam and Shyra tackling the complexities of love befikre style.
Vaani Kapoor, like Ranveer, is a YRF protegee, who debuted with Shudh Desi Romance and returned to the big screen after a gap of three years.
